Paddlefest: a Palooza of Surfing, Paddling, and Racing!
CORE was ecstatic to participate (again) in this year’s 33rd Annual Paddlefest! This was a 3-day event highlighting Steamer Lane competition and Cowell’s classic. Paddlefest went out with a bang on the last day with a 5k/ 10k. The race was presented by Covewater Paddle Surf.
What Competition!
Every year Steamer Lane attracts people from all over the world. The Lane possesses one of the “most fabled breaks.” Those among the elite at Steamer Lane competed in surf kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and wave skiing. Additionally, the Cowell’s Classic was “a friendly surfing competition.” It welcomed intermediate levels into its ranks. This part of the competition took place at the end of the Lane.
Get More with CORE During Paddlefest!
Over the three days, we were so stoked to be located between the iconic Lighthouse and the surfer statues that characterize West Cliff Drive. CORE provided many services to event watchers and participants. These services included therapeutic bodywork and chair massage, functional movement assessments, and injury prevention with personal trainers. Also, acupuncturists performed ear seeding, and Dr. Ryan Slaughter DC performed chiropractic assessments.
Additionally, Paddlefest enlisted CORE and personal trainers for a unique and special role each morning. This was a morning stretch to help get the competitors ready in mind, body, and spirit.
CORE connected with so many wonderful people and athletes. What a great feeling to know that we could help kickstart the event each day! If you were able to attend any day of Paddlefest, then you were a witness to just how beautiful the weather was. Each day was greeted by sunshine and pleasant smiles. Can’t wait to see what Paddlefest 2020 will have in store!
