4th of July Morning Celebrated CORE’s Way!
On the 4th of July, CORE celebrated in the best way possible! CORE had a booth at the Santa Cruz Firecracker Race. It took place at Harvey West Park. TheSanta Cruz Sunrise Rotary Club holds the event every year. There is no better way to kickstart the holiday than with doing something amazing for your body and mind.
Red, White, & Blue as Far as the Eye Could See
Participants and watchers came decked out in their finest red, white, and blue attire. Not only did they get up super early to be at the race, but they came showing their pride and support for their country. Needless to say, the weather was great and the energy level was high.
This year, there were over 200 participants. The categories included a 10k, 5k and a 1k walk/run for kids. There were more families with children participating than ever expected. The race organization even had special medals for every kid. This integration of healthy habits is what CORE loves to see in the community.
What was offered at the 4th of July race?
Other vendor booths included Fleet Feet & Farm Fresh to You. The park is pet-friendly and has a playground for kids, making the space very welcoming to all!
Also, the race emcee kept the racers motivated by doing a pre-run pep talk- not to mention he was wearing red, white, and blue from head to toe. The d.j. played family-friendly music to dance to. At the end, there was a free burrito breakfast for racers to enjoy.
You could spot CORE employees near the finish line cheering racers on! CORE offered chiropractic assessments with Dr. Rhodes Walton DC, and chair massage demos with two vastly skilled massage therapists. What made this event special was that participants came to our booth after in need of some post-race stretching, adjusting, and consulting.
