Run Training Program
The second annual Santa Cruz River Run 5 & 10k is coming up!! Santa Cruz Core wants to help you have your most successful race! Weather this is your first race, you have a time goal you’re wishing to reach, or you just want to be the most prepared possible…this is the group for you! We will discuss the importance of your training and race day footwear, focus on corrective exercises and releasing techniques to reduce and/or prevent injury, gradually increase our mileage through interval training, and build new relationships with your fellow training buddies!
This 8 week training program will be from April 21, 2014- June 22, 2014 (Race day!) You will meet at Santa Cruz Core twice a week. One session during the week; either Mondays at 6pm or Wednesdays at 6am AND one session on Saturdays at 8am. All sessions will be one hour and will be entirely lead by a skilled and motivating trainer from the awesome Santa Cruz Core team. COST: Santa Cruz Core members $199 Non- Santa Cruz Core members $249
With your commitment to this River Run Training Program you will receive dynamic and progressive workouts and motivation from our experienced trainers, entry to the Santa Cruz River Run, homework assignments to maximize your success potential, a race t-shirt specifically designed for our training program members, and new fitness friends you can take with you even after the race is over!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Each week you will meet once on either Monday OR Wednesday, and once on Saturday morning, expect to work! There will be a variation of power, speed, strength, muscle building, stabilization, flexibility and cardio circuit training as well as distance and interval training. BRING YOUR RUNNING/ WALKING SHOES; we will be discussing the importance of properly fitting footwear.
As this training group will receive unique race day t-shirts, you all will be brainstorming and voting on your team name which you can proudly sport all over town!
