What Makes Prolotherapy at CORE Different?

CORE has led the way in regenerative treatments in Santa Cruz for years. With Prolotherapy, PRP, and Stem Cell regenerative injections we have helped thousands heal existing injuries, treated joints to prevent future injuries, slow or stop hair loss, rejuvenate skin, treat sexual health and function disorders, and more. But we do so much more in the way of making sure you get the most out of these treatments!
Prolotherapy: The Regenerative Injection Treatment
Prolotherapy is a process designed to elevate your body into a state of healing for a longer-than-normal period of time. In order to get maximal efficacy out of such a process, we recommend taking extra steps to help your body out in the system!

For one, there’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or HBOT. Richly oxygenating your air intake and bloodstream enables the platelets in the injection to proliferate and alter your tissue more thoroughly.

Additionally, we have a Vasper machine here at CORE. The Vasper isn’t your ordinary workout machine…it uses compression and cryotherapy to boost your body’s hormonal response during training. Helping aid the Prolotherapy process with its task of rejuvenating tissue.

Finally, we offer specific peptides (a chemical component of platelets) as supplements. These will act as reinforcements to your body’s natural inflammation and repair response stimulated by the prolotherapy.

Altogether, in conjunction with other integrative services like exercise, nutrition, acupuncture, chiropractic, create the unique, whole-body healing system of the CORE Advantage.

What Are Prolotherapy’s Advantages?

Medical specialists that advocate for prolotherapy think that by strengthening joints, pain would be decreased. Additionally, increased joint strength will aid in joint stability and enhance general mobility and function of the back and joints. Prolotherapy is an all-natural, long-term treatment that depends on the body’s inherent ability to heal itself to relieve pain. Pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs, on the other hand, only give brief relief. Surgical methods, on the other hand, do not always work to adequately stabilize a joint.

What are the potential dangers and adverse effects?

Prolotherapy has had just a few recorded negative effects. In rare circumstances, the most serious adverse effect is an infection at the injection site. Fever and discomfort indicate a possible infection, which is normally straightforward to treat with medication.  Another possible adverse effect is transient swelling or soreness at the injection site. The damaged joint may feel worse right after the surgery before it starts to feel better. Prolotherapy hasn’t been well studied. This might indicate that there are yet undiscovered negative effects.
