The Santa Cruz Super Enduro

Camp Loma, Ca >> The Santa Cruz Super Enduro. A rough and tough downhill mountain bike race full of root sections, rock sections, switchbacks, ruts, exposed sections, high-speed, tight, and steep sections.
Courses are broken up by level of experience with Pro, Expert, and sport riders with totals being 22 miles with 4800 feet of climbing.

There are also Junior and Beginner divisions with a course length of about 18 miles.
Needless to say, the mountain bikers that take on this race are as tough as the trail they are riding, and not surprisingly, are injured frequently and require A LOT of TLC.

Santa Cruz Core was there to offer post-race massage, injury assessments, stretching, foam rolling, and corrective exercises to improve their performance for future endeavors and decrease recovery time for the athletes.

Santa Cruz Core was out there in force offering up 5 hours of the massage through our Corporate Wellness Program. Massage, and HMT (Hanson Muscle Technique) trigger point Beau Jansen, Pro Elite Trainer and CMT, Jaimi Ellison, and Core Massage Intern D’anne.

Providing massage, injury assessment, and other expert advice is extremely valuable to all athletes, and mountain bikers are no different. Combining these things will not only help to get over injuries, but it will keep you doing the sports you love for a long time.

Road and mountain bikers alike tend to have tight hip flexors, tight erector spinae (back muscles), tight quads, and tight hamstrings. When the body is not in balance injury can occur. It is like the spokes on a bike wheel of a bike. When they are “true” the bike works correctly with proper alignment, just like the body. If certain muscles are too tight or too weak then the body is ‘untrue’ causing a torque which is an unnecessary pulling that can cause discomfort and ultimately injury. We look at the body as a whole, correcting for torques in the body and realigning the muscles properly through soft tissue work and corrective exercises. This then allows the body to work synergistically. Our goal is to keep these athletes playing for as long and as much as possible! Check out our Corrective Exercise Specialists today!

We had such a great time at this community event and really enjoyed helping people continue to do the things they love by helping to relieve pain and correct injuries.
