Santa Cruz Core Fitness + Rehab recently raised $1,000 for the Coastal Watershed Council during its sixth annual benefit party held June 6. The money raised is to help support of the council’s work to revitalize the San Lorenzo River.
The donation will support programs to bring youth to learn more about and connect with the river, events and recreation opportunities for all Santa Cruzians along the San Lorenzo River, according to the Coastal Watershed Council.
The reason we enjoy working with the Coastal Watershed Council is the positive energy they bring to the community,” Jaimi Ellison, owner of Santa Cruz Core, stated in a press release.
Since our business is so close to the San Lorenzo River, it means a lot to us to support an organization that is working so hard to protect this valuable part of the Santa Cruz environment. We believe that taking care of the earth is just as important as taking care of our bodies, because we only have one of each.”
