Mark your calendars, because the 3rd Annual Santa Cruz River Run presented by Santa Cruz Core is slated for Sunday, June 14th, 2015 in the lower benchlands of San Lorenzo Park in Santa Cruz, California. The River Run is family fun run that includes a 1k, 5k, and 10k course running along the scenic river levee in the heart of downtown Santa Cruz.
The Beneficiary of this year’s run is The Coastal Watershed Council which is a non-profit organization founded to “…Preserve and protect coastal watersheds through community stewardship, education and monitoring.” The Coastal Watershed Council (CWC) was formed in 1995 in response to the declining health of watersheds in the Monterey Bay region.
Santa Cruz Core is the founder and presenting sponsor of this event for the last three years believing healthy people come from healthy communities. We’re a one stop wellness shop providing a variety of services to help people get out of pain and live healthier more holistic lifestyles. Our mission statement is “…Helping people achieve their optimal health through our community of wellness.” By providing healthy activities like The River Run and encouraging education about our surrounding environment, this event is two-fold in helping provide the community with a fun activity while also helping to preserve the community we live in.
The last two years have yielded approximately $15,000 in donations, and the goal of the River Run and our Goal is to beat that number this year! But, we can do it without your help. We are looking for Racers, Volunteers, Donors, and sponsors to help bring this event to life.
