Integrative and Functional Nutrition
Integrative and Functional Nutrition is the most effective way to harness the energy, information, and connections to create health and reverse disease. We work with clients to understand what’s causing their symptoms—not just the whole body, but also the mind and spirit.
Integrative and Functional Nutrition recognizes that individuals are genetically and biologically distinct, and that healthful eating must be personalized to YOUR genetics, lifestyle, environment, and health concerns. Food is actually information, not just energy (calories). Nutrition affects cellular metabolism and gene expression. Even more, food represents connection – families, and friends preparing and eating food together.

We're Striving to Change the Medical Model in Healthcare and Wellness.
Instead of applying a generic diet to an ailment or disease, Integrative and Functional Nutrition looks at underlying causes: inflammatory imbalances, detoxification imbalances, hormonal imbalances, mitochondrial dysfunction, immune imbalances, toxic emotions and mood disorders, digestive, absorptive, and microbiological imbalances that create disease – arthritis, cancer, diabetes, fibromyalgia, autoimmune disease, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, and cardiac disease.
What does integrative nutrition help with?

No matter if you have a smartphone, laptop, or ancient personal computer, we can show you how to employ the latest apps and technology to track micro and macronutrients and stay on track while at home.
InBody: Body Composition Analysis Device
Santa Cruz’s Only Public, Medical-Grade body composition analysis machine. InBody measures your body composition, generally known as your body muscle, fat, and water. Our InBody 770 analysis measures:
- Skeletal Muscle Mass
- Percent Body Fat
- Body Fat Mass
- Basal Metabolic Rate
- Visceral Fat Level and more!
Instead of focusing on a single number on your scale, body composition analysis allows you to focus on losing body fat and gaining muscle while retaining the proper amount of body water in specific areas of your body. Body composition analysis is the key to tracking and maintaining effective weight loss.
Meet your Basal Metabolic Rate
A Metabolic Fingerprint, or resting metabolism, is the unique number of calories an individual burns each day without exercise or activity. An accurate Metabolic Fingerprint measurement provides the definitive answer when creating a personal program. This means that whether you are working to lose weight, build strength, or complete a first fitness event, the plan you prepare will be based on your needs and deliver the results you are looking for. The BodyGem device is a handheld, portable and profitable tool that gives you an accurate Metabolic Fingerprint measurement result in 10 minutes or less.
