As a student at UC Santa Cruz, Jaimi Ellison was hit by a car while riding a bike and had to undergo months of rehab.
“It made me appreciate my health,” she said.
The experience led Ellison, a biochemistry and community studies major who grew up in Felton, to become a personal trainer. At 27, she’s opened her own business.
Santa Cruz Core Fitness & Rehab, located in a former leather sofa store at 317 Potrero St., offers a variety of services from personal training, exercise classes, boot camps and yoga to nutritional counseling, massage and chiropractic treatment.
